“The current ultimatums are child’s play compared to the demands that will be in the future…: the complete capitulation of the Kyiv regime on the terms formulated by Russia,” Medvedev wrote in his Telegram account.

These new threats appear to be a reaction to statements made by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi in an interview with CNN on Sunday. In an interview, Zelensky said that at the moment he is not interested in negotiations with Russia, as he does not see Moscow’s openness to constructive discussions.

Zelenskyy called Russia’s conditions for the start of negotiations “cannibalistic”, as they assume that Ukraine will be “eaten to pieces”. Instead, Ukraine’s goal is to win back the territories occupied by Russia, Zelenskyi said.

Dmytro Medvedev is one of the staunchest supporters of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. He threatened Ukraine with the “Doomsday” if it tries to retake the Crimean peninsula.

The refusal of Ukraine and Western powers to recognize Moscow’s control over the Crimean peninsula constitutes “a systemic threat to Russia, and any external attack on the region will provoke a Doomsday response,” Dmytro Medvedev, now the vice president, said in July. President of the Security Council of Russia.

Russia’s conditions for the start of negotiations include the concession of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions in eastern Ukraine, the recognition of the Crimean peninsula as Russian territory, the demilitarization of Ukraine and Ukraine’s refusal to join NATO. Meanwhile, Ukraine demands the return of all regions occupied by Russia. (Source: Agerpres)
