“Anachronous conflicts are intensifying, extreme, closed, aggressive nationalisms are returning, with new wars that affect the elderly, children and the sick and cause disasters everywhere,” Francis added.
“After two world wars, we thought that the world had learned to gradually move towards respect for human rights, international law, many forms of cooperation. However, history, unfortunately, shows signs of regression,” concluded the Argentine pontiff.
