The dramatic blow to the Ukrainians comes after another video last week captured the shelling of this village from afar as part of the systematic bombing of bridges in the Kherson region, which began after the start of Kyiv’s counteroffensive in the south of the country on August 29.

In an assessment of hostilities in Ukraine, the Ministry of Defense of Great Britain said on Thursday morning that Ukrainian brigades continue to conduct offensive actions in the Kherson region, and may have managed to destroy a pontoon bridge built by Russian engineers in the village of Darivka.
According to British officials, this crossing is one of the main routes connecting Russian military sectors along the Dnipro River.
“Ukraine’s systematic and precise targeting of vulnerable checkpoints continues to put pressure on Russian forces as they try to repel Ukrainian attacks: they slow down the ability to deploy operational reserves and replenish supplies from the east,” the British assessment said.

The Ukrainian army continued its offensive in the east of the country
In the latest assessment by the Institute for the Study of War of the situation in Ukraine, American military analysts claim that the Ukrainian military surprised the Russian troops by advancing at least 20 km into Russian-controlled territory in the Kharkiv region, managing to recapture 400 sq. Wednesday.
“The Russians tried to counter-offensive, but it is very likely that the numbers were too few to counter as more forces were redeployed to support the effort to capture the rest of Donetsk Oblast and assist the southern axis,” he said. says the ISW assessment.
“Ukraine’s counteroffensive in the Kherson region forced the Russian military to focus on the southern direction and allowed the Ukrainian troops to launch very effective counterattacks in the Russian-occupied Izyum direction,” it added.
Military experts in the US also say that Russian military bloggers are worried that counterattacks in the Izyum area will isolate Russian forces, while the Ukrainians will win back large parts of the territory.
They believe that in fact the Kherson counteroffensive is a diversion for actions in the Kharkiv region, which successfully demoralize the Kremlin’s forces.
ISW also mentions strikes in the Kherson region, noting that Ukrainian forces continued to strike Russian logistics hubs, equipment, transport networks and command posts in the region in southern Ukraine.
