Putin’s “three-day” war in Ukraine has already entered its seventh month. And the fact that the last 6 months seem to have flown by so “quickly” is just a manifestation of war: one of the senses that those who are in the heat of battle lose is the sense of the passage of time. The dreary monotony of the succession of months of war now seems to be shrinking, after the first hours and days of the invasion then seemed interminable. Ukraine has become a battlefield where a new and complex war of attrition is being experimented with, seemingly antiquated strategies used during World War II and honed in former Soviet military academies, now combined with modern tactics and state-of-the-art weaponry. How will this war end? When? And, above all, the question that has tormented us since time immemorial: “Who will be the winner who will be remembered in the history books?”. The truth is, no one knows.
