Russian Energy Minister Nikolai Sulginov said on Tuesday that Russia would respond to higher oil prices by selling more of its oil to Asia.
Mr. Sulginov spoke to reporters during the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok, in eastern Russia.
At the same time, a high-ranking representative of Gazprom said that it would be impossible to restore the uninterrupted operation of the Nord Stream gas pipeline from Russia to the European market until Siemens Energy repaired the faulty equipment.
“Perhaps you should ask this question to Siemens, they should repair the equipment first,” Gazprom Deputy General Director Vitaly Markelov told Reuters on Tuesday, answering a question about the Gazprom gas pipeline on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum.
