Liz Truss: I have a “daring plan” for the future of the country – immediate action in connection with the energy crisis

Her first speech as prime minister Britannia addressed today Liz Truss of her number 10 Downing Street.

At the beginning of his speech thras among other things, he stated that he had a “bold plan” for the future of the country.

In addition, Tras said it will address three of its priorities immediately: 1) economic growth through tax cuts, 2) supporting energy bills, and 3) ensuring that public health services are delivered to all citizens.

“I am confident that together we can weather the storm. We can rebuild our economy and become the modern and brilliant Britain that I know we can be,” Truss said.

Meeting with Elizabeth

It is noted that Truss officially became the country’s new prime minister after a meeting she had on Tuesday afternoon with Queen Elizabeth at Balmoral Castle.

As seen in the released photos, the Queen held a cane as she greeted the new leader of the United Kingdom.

The monarch broke with tradition by welcoming the outgoing prime minister and then his successor to her castle in Scotland, rather than Buckingham Palace, as she had done on all previous occasions, due to the mobility issues she faced.

Liz Truss is the 15th prime minister appointed by Queen Elizabeth and the third woman after Margaret Thatcher and Theresa May. The first British prime minister to serve under Elizabeth was Winston Churchill, who was appointed to that position in 1952.

Plan to freeze electricity bills

The Truss plans to freeze household electricity bills at current levels for this and next winter, paid for by government loans to energy providers, the BBC said on Tuesday.

“Energy companies will take out government-guaranteed loans to bridge the gap between the wholesale price and the fixed price they charge customers,” the BBC said.
