It is recalled that since the beginning of March, the board of directors of the company tested by Western sanctions demanded an end to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Ravil Maganov joined Lukoil in 1993, shortly after the company’s founding, and led its refining, production and exploration activities before becoming chairman of the board in 2020. His brother Niall heads the medium-sized Russian oil company Tatneft.
Ravil Maganov was a close associate of one of the founders of Lukoil, Vagit Alekperov.
