“I understand your wishes and dreams. However, I suggest to switch to a cautious format of comments regarding any of our military actions,” wrote Podolyak on Monday afternoon in his Telegram channel, Ukrinform reports.

“Therefore, I would like to once again remind all politicians, experts and leaders of public opinion (of course, they know everything much better than the direct executors) about how important it is not to manipulate and not speculate on information about the conduct of hostilities before the official statements of representatives of the Armed Forces or of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine,” he emphasized.

Podolyak also appealed to Ukrainian journalists to check sources of information and expertise on military topics with “special care” both today and in the coming days.

Podolyak also called for “filtering of information” and asked journalists to work professionally, “out of respect for Ukrainian defenders.”

What is known about the Ukrainian offensive in the Kherson region

The spokesperson of the Southern Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Nataliya Humenyuk, reported on Monday afternoon that “today we started offensive actions in several directions, including in the Kherson region.”

The Ukrainian mass media immediately announced the beginning of the long-awaited offensive in the south of Ukraine.

“The ground counteroffensive has begun. The Ukrainian army broke through the first line of Russian defense in Kherson,” Kyiv Post writes with reference to a separate message from a group of military units fighting in southern Ukraine.

Some journalists and officials from Kyiv, however, urged caution, stressing that the scale of the counteroffensive is still unknown.

At the moment there are reports that the Ukrainian armed forces would liberate the village of Sukhy Stavok in the north-east of the Kherson region and that the Ukrainian attacks would significantly limit the connections of the Russian forces north of the Dnieper with those who could reinforce them. .

The new shelling took place after the Ukrainian troops carried out powerful strikes using HIMARS systems and artillery on targets in the Kherson region on the night from Sunday to Monday.
