Turkey: Erdogan’s entourage is back in the spotlight – New round of allegations of corruption and bribery

Opposition parties in Turkey are putting pressure on the Turkish judiciary, with lawsuits filed on Monday demanding action be taken to investigate what a mobster has denounced. Sendat Peker about corruption in the environment of the president Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

For his part, Peker — a Turkish mobster who previously served a prison sentence in Turkey as a member of a criminal organization and then fled abroad after 2020 and began posting video accusations against Erdogan’s circle in a number of corruption cases — does not stop at “knocking.”

In a series of tweets over the weekend, Sedat Peker, 51, accused the former head of the Turkish Capital Markets Council, a ruling AKP MP, a presidential adviser and others of being part of a network that extorted bribes from listed companies.

Pecker went even further, saying that Erdogan’s son-in-law, a former minister, was also involved in the bribery scandal. Berat Albayrak and his brother and businessman (head of the Turkuvaz Media group) Serhat Albayrak.

Turkish opposition parties such as Republican People’s Party CHP from Kemal Kilicdaroglu as well as DEVA former minister Ali Babajanwere quick to ask the Turkish judiciary to investigate these allegations.

“We know that the judiciary is currently at the service of the government. However, we will sue… to make it history. One day, responsible prosecutors will appear again who will hunt down this scum,” Mustafa Ceneroglu from the DEVA faction said.
