
A second power unit has been connected to the Zaporizhzhya NPP, Energoatom NAEC reported on Friday.
The Zaporizhzhia power plant, “despite the numerous challenges of the (Russian) occupiers, continues to function in the energy system of Ukraine and provide our country’s electricity needs,” reads the statement of “Energoatom”, reports CNN and News.ro. .
The operator praised the factory workers, calling them “real heroes”.
“They tirelessly and steadily carry the nuclear and radioactive safety of Ukraine and the whole of Europe on their shoulders and work selflessly to ensure that their native country has life-giving electricity,” Energoatom noted.
Earlier, “Energoatom” reported that this plant was reconnected to the energy grid of Ukraine.
The plant is located in the south of Ukraine, occupied by the Russians, and is the largest complex of its type in Europe.
