Ukraine will not agree to any proposal to freeze the current front line in its conflict with Russia in order to “appease” Moscowsaid the president Vladimir Zelensky during his interview in Kyiv.

He also urged the world not to show war weariness, stating that it would pose a great threat to the whole world.

The President of Ukraine also said that Ukraine will recapture him Crimean peninsula annexed by Russia by any means it deems appropriate and that it will not consult with other countries before doing so.

He made these statements during a press conference in Kyiv following the end of the Crimean Platform forum in Ukraine, which was attended by leaders of dozens of countries and organizations, mostly via videoconference.



Possible inspection of the Zaporozhye NPP

Head of Russian diplomacy Sergey Lavrov he referred to his conversation with the French foreign minister Ekaterina Columnabout a possible visit of inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to the Zaporozhye NPP.

In a telephone conversation, the ministers “discussed in detail the situation around the Zaporozhye NPP and the existing possibilities for organizing a visit to the plant by an IAEA mission,” the Russian ministry said in a statement.

Lavrov insisted that Ukraine continue to bomb “Europe’s largest nuclear power plant, as well as the surrounding area, which puts all citizens of Europe at risk of a nuclear catastrophe.” The station has been controlled by the Russian army since early March and has been hit in recent weeks, for which Moscow and Kyiv blame each other.
