
Sixteen (16) people died and 22 were injured in the southeast. Turkey in a traffic accident involving an ambulance, the Governor of Gaziantep Province said today.
The governor of the region, Davut Gul, previously spoke of 15 deaths “as a result of a traffic accident involving a bus, rescuers and an ambulance on the highway between Gaziantep and Nizip.”

According to the Turkish DHA news agency, an ambulance, a fire engine and a car carrying a group of journalists who were on the scene to cover another accident collided head-on with a passenger bus on the same highway.
According to local media, among the 16 dead were four rescuers, three firefighters and two journalists from the Turkish news agency Ilhas.
Images released by DHA show the back of a partially damaged ambulance and an overturned bus with a damaged front.
