There was a massive explosion at a mosque in Kabul last night, and the Afghan authorities are expressing fears about a large number of victims.
According to Al Jazeera, citing a local official, at least 20 people were killed and many were injured.
Only in one hospital in the Afghan capital, 27 wounded were treated, including a 7-year-old child.
Eyewitnesses told Reuters that a powerful explosion blew out the windows of neighboring houses.
“The explosion occurred inside the mosque… There are casualties, but their number has not yet been specified,” a Kabul police spokesman told Reuters.
According to a Taliban spokesman, the imam was among those killed in the explosion at the mosque, which was full of worshipers.
