According to the Russian mass media, in mid-June, the head of the Kremlin gave an order to prepare a draft decree on the revival of the honorary title “Heroine Mother” — an invention of Soviet times.

The honorary title of “Heroine Mother” was first introduced in the USSR in 1944, during the dictatorship of Joseph Stalin, who sought accelerated population growth after significant losses during World War II.

The last awarding of the title “Heroine Mother” in the Soviet Union took place in November 1991, shortly before the collapse of the USSR.
