American President Joe Biden indicated that he would ratify a bill providing for spending $430 billion climate and health next week.
The bill is considered the most important ever drafted in the United States for fighting climate change, it is believed that this will put the country on the right track to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Moreover, this will reduce drug prices.
His eventual approval by Congress is the political victory Mr. Biden desperately wanted ahead of the November midterm elections.
“I plan to sign” the text “next week,” and “We will hold a celebration at the White House on Sept. 6 to commemorate this historic law,” Mr. Biden said on Twitter.
Congress approves bill
The U.S. Congress on Friday finally approved Joe Biden’s climate and health investment bill, giving the Democratic president a major political victory less than three months before the crucial midterm elections.
With a narrow majority in the House of Representatives, the bill, which provides for more than $430 billion in public investment, passed the bill after it was approved by the Senate a few days ago.
The text, which is expected to help the US meet its greenhouse gas reduction targets, now only has to be ratified by Mr. Biden.
