Ukrainian general Dmytro Martsenko, who coordinated the defense of the cities of Mykolaiv and Odesa, claims that Ukraine can end the war with Russia and win in the spring, having entered its borders since 1991, reports the RBC news agency, citing Rador.

“I don’t want to make predictions, but if we have the amount of weapons that we were promised, that we need, then, I think, next spring we will celebrate the victory,” General Martsenko said in an interview with the Ukrainian Press Agency of RBC.

According to Marchenko, Ukraine has already passed the “point of no return” after the Irpin and Buchi cases, so it is absolutely impossible to talk about any negotiations by giving up any territory.

“If we do this, we will simply transfer this war to the shoulders of our children. If we leave even a piece of land to the enemy, he will return home, draw certain conclusions and attack again in six or eight years.

Therefore, we must defend the entire territory, we must take control of all the borders of Ukraine and not leave (the Russians) a single piece of our land,” added the general, who coordinated the defense of the cities of Mykolaiv and Odesa.

The Russians will not be able to hold a referendum in Kherson

Ukrainian General Dmytro Martsenko claims that Russian special services are discussing among themselves that Kherson will not be able to implement the scenario of 2014 in Crimea, when the Russian occupiers organized a so-called referendum for the annexation of the peninsula.

According to Martsenko, the people of Kherson do not allow the occupiers to implement their scenarios regarding the “referendum” and “Russian world”.

“Their employees of the FSB (No) discuss among themselves that in Kherson they are unable to implement the scenario they used in Crimea. They are already aware of this and are preparing other measures that they will not succeed in,” the general said.

Martsenko is firmly convinced that the government installed by Moscow in Kherson will not hold any “referendum”.

The liberation of Kherson “will happen quickly”

The Ukrainian general also claims that the liberation of Kherson, a city under temporary Russian occupation, can happen very quickly, but urged the population to “wait a little longer.”

Martsenko did not provide details on the specific term for the release of Kherson and the entire region, but noted that the process “will not be as long as everyone expects.”

“It will be quick. Let them wait a little longer. We (Khersonians, no), no one is abandoning them, we will come to their aid, but let them wait a little longer,” the general said in an interview with RBC.

He added that in the near future the people of Kherson “will see and hear everything.”
