The control of Moscow’s puppets in the occupied territories of southeastern Ukraine is being checked by members of a resistance group that helps Ukrainian forces attack key points in an attempt to retake territories captured by the Russians, the Associated Press reports.

The separatists in the Kherson region have big problems because of partisan formations loyal to Kyiv, which help Zelenskyi’s army behind enemy lines.

“Our goal is to make life unbearable for the Russian occupiers and to destroy their plans by any means,” 32-year-old Andriy, who coordinates the guerrilla movement in the Kherson region, told the Associated Press.

It is part of the “Yellow Ribbon” or “Yellow Ribbon” resistance group, the name of which refers to one of the two national colors of Ukraine.

Actually, the group marks potential targets for attacks planned by the Ukrainians with yellow ribbons.

“If HIMARS can’t, guerrillas will help you”

Zelenskyi’s army recently used HIMARS to strike a strategic bridge over the Dnipro River in Kherson, cutting off the main supply line for the troops Putin has sent into the captured city since the invasion began.

Then the resistance group “Yellow Ribbon” covered the city of Kherson with leaflets threatening the puppets of the Kremlin in the city above the Dnieper.

“If HIMARS can’t, guerrillas will help you,” was one of the messages on the posters scattered by the resistance.

“We provide the Ukrainian army with precise coordinates for various purposes, and the help of partisans makes new long-range weapons, especially HIMARS, even more powerful. We are invisible behind Russian borders, and this is our strength,” he added. Andriy told AP about it.

Members of the resistance group coordinate with Ukrainian special forces, preparing ambushes, selecting targets and organizing a network of weapons caches.

The resistance planned several attacks

Guerrillas loyal to Kyiv planted bombs near administrative buildings, near the houses of pro-Russian leaders and on routes leading to their headquarters.

Yevhen Sobolev, head of the Kherson pre-trial detention center, was the object of the attack, but he survived.

One policeman died, another was wounded as a result of the shooting of the car they were in, and the deputy head of the Novokakhov local administration died of his injuries.

Volodymyr Saldo, the chairman whom the Kremlin put at the head of the administration in Kherson, was repeatedly attacked by the resistance group, offering a reward of one million hryvnias, which is equivalent to 25 thousand dollars, for his head.

His close relative, Pavel Slobodchikov, was shot dead, and another pro-Russian official, Dmytro Savluchenko, died in a car trap.

To suppress the resistance, Russia sent special forces

Frequent attacks worried the Kremlin, which sent special forces to suppress the resistance group, said the head of the pro-Russian administration in Kherson.

“Every day, special forces in Russia discover two or three caches of weapons for terrorist activities. The confiscation of weapons helps reduce the threat of sabotage,” Saldo said in his Telegram channel.

However, Ukrainians continue to fight from the territories occupied by the Russians.

“Repression is intensifying. It creates unbearable conditions for Ukrainians, making it difficult to survive under Russian occupation,” Oleksandr Kharchikov, a wedding photographer turned activist who was arrested in a raid by Russian intelligence services and then beaten and tortured, told the AP. .
