At the same time, Mario Draghi added: “Regarding the EU’s overall support to member states in dealing with this new economic crisis, the various funds have not yet been approved. Now the Council of Energy Ministers has approved a European energy saving plan, in which certain problems are solved in a unified way. There was clear goodwill on the part of Italy. We are certainly in a better position than other countries.”

The support measures taken today by the Draghi government amount to 15 billion euros. “Our main goal is to help businesses and households facing financial problems,” said the head of the Italian government, who, after submitting his resignation, remains in charge of current affairs.

Mario Draghi and Ecological Transition Minister Roberto Cingolani stressed that Italy’s natural gas reserves have reached 74% of their total potential and are expected to reach 90% by winter.
