NATO’s aggressive policy towards Russia has caused a tense situation in Europe, Russian presidential spokesman Dmytro Peskov said on Thursday, commenting on NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg’s statements that Russia’s actions in Ukraine are an attack on the current world order, Russian news agency TASS reports.

“This situation has been brewing for several decades, largely provoked by the aggressive policy of the North Atlantic Alliance against our country, constantly bringing its infrastructure closer to the borders of the Russian Federation. This created additional dangers for us and forced Russia to take action. actions,” said Peskov.

The press secretary of the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, also stated that Moscow does not agree with Stoltenberg’s assessment of the events in Ukraine.

Peskov also stated that the real threat to the world order is the coup in Ukraine in 2014, which was staged by the member countries of the alliance.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said on Thursday that the war in Ukraine is the most dangerous moment for Europe since World War II and Russia cannot be allowed to win this war, Reuters reported.

To prevent a Russian victory, NATO and its member states may have to continue supporting Ukraine with arms and other aid for a long time, according to a senior alliance official.
