Study: Women don’t live longer than men

Big upheaval in popular perception that wants them women survive them people causes a new study by Danish scientists. Survey prepared Siddan Odense Universityin Denmark, and published in the magazine Football Open World Cupbased on evidence long life collected from all over the world and covering a period of 200 years (1751-2020).

The researchers concluded that while men appear to have less life expectancy than women, have a significant chance of surviving them. Tellingly, Statistics UK reports that life expectancy in the period 2018-2020 was 79.3 years for men and 83.1 years for women. However, a new study has shown that such descriptions of life expectancy for both sexes do not reflect reality, since men have a serious chance of living longer. In particular, it has been estimated that between 25% and 50% of men live longer than women.

External factors

The researchers concluded that although men have a shorter life expectancy than women, they have a significant chance of outliving them.

Chances are especially high married and those with higher education. “Men with these characteristics live longer than women, especially if they are single and do not have higher education,” the researchers note. Also, analysis of the data showed that the likelihood that men will live longer than women decreased in the 1970s, and then a gradual increase was recorded in all populations.

The fluctuation of differences in life expectancy between the two sexes depends on exogenous factors and is mainly associated with smoking or other risky behaviors. Thus, the researchers argue that “although the life expectancy of men is lower than that of women and, in general, the mortality of men at any age is higher, men have a serious chance of living longer than women.”

A study by the University of Lyon in France on the causes of differences in life expectancy between the two sexes found that they could not be attributed to any specific biological cause. Testosterone weakens the immune system and increases the risk of cardiovascular disease in men. Behaviors such as drinking, smoking and unhealthy eating contribute to shortening life expectancy. Men are less likely to follow their doctor’s advice if they have health problems, and they also take excessive risks of dying in traffic accidents.
