“200-220 thousand Ukrainians live in Donetsk region, including 52 thousand children. And it is the duty of the state and every adult citizen to ensure the protection of his life,” said Vereshchuk.

According to the minister, the evacuation from the Donetsk region has two reasons: the intensification of hostilities and the almost complete absence of electricity and gas supply.

Therefore, this winter, settlements will remain without heat, the government official said.

On July 29, the Cabinet of Ministers created the Coordination Team for organizing the evacuation of the civilian population of Donetsk region and appointed Iryna Verestyuk as its head.

This body will also include representatives of ministries, law enforcement agencies and regional administrations.
