Oleksiy Vadaturskyi, the founder and owner of Ukraine’s largest agricultural company Nibulon, and his wife were killed as a result of a Russian attack in the city of Nikoaiv in southern Ukraine, Ukrainian Pravda and Sky News reported.
Oleksiy Vadaturskyi and his wife Raisa died after their house was hit by Russian missiles, local governor Vitaly Kim reported on his Telegram channel.
“Today our city lost its hero. Hero of Ukraine, CEO of Nibulon company Oleksiy Vadaturskyi and his wife Raisa Mykhailivna died tragically during the bombing of the city last night,” wrote Kim.
According to the Ukrainian official, Vadatursky “did a lot” for Mykolaiv and for Ukraine, and his contribution to the development of the agricultural and shipbuilding industries was “priceless.”
The company under the leadership of Vadatursky contributed to the development of grain export infrastructure
Oleksiy Vadatursky’s fortune was about 450 million dollars, according to Forbes in 2020, the BBC writes.
Agricultural company “Nibulon”, founded and managed by Vadatursky, with headquarters in Mykolaiv, specializes in the production and export of wheat, barley and corn, has its own fleet and a shipbuilding plant.
Nibulon has built many warehouses and other infrastructure for grain export.
Mykolaiv is on the main route to Odesa, Ukraine’s main port, and has recently been hit repeatedly, the BBC reports.
