OUR Russia today accused the United States of “destabilizing the world” by fomenting tensions around Taiwan, where House Speaker Nancy Pelosi visitpissed off Beijing.

“Washington is destabilizing the world. Over the past decades, not a single conflict has been resolved, but many have been provoked, ”wrote Maria Zakharova, a representative of Russian diplomacy, in her Telegram account.

For its part, the Kremlin warned Washington that Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan would put him on the path to clash with China and spark tensions in the region.

“For the time being, we cannot say for sure whether she will go there or not, but everything about this trip and her possible visit to Taiwan is completely provocative,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

Connection between Beijing and Washington

Chinese diplomatic mission spokeswoman Hua Chunying said Beijing is in talks with Washington over a possible visit by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to Taiwan.

Hua Chunying warned that the US would be “responsible” for Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan and would be asked to “pay the price.”

“There is no doubt that the United States will be responsible (for the consequences) and will have to pay the price for insulting the sovereignty and security of China,” a Chinese diplomatic representative told reporters.

Yesterday, Nancy Pelosi launched a four-country Asian tour from Singapore and is expected to defy Beijing’s ire by visiting Taiwan.

Beijing considers Taiwan part of its territory, which must be reunited, by force if necessary, and has repeatedly warned Washington against a visit from a senior official that it would consider too provocative.

The US Air Force plane carrying the Speaker of the House of Representatives in Malaysia took off from Kuala Lumpur, Flightradar24 reports. However, it has not yet been confirmed that Nancy Pelosi will be on the plane.
