
Firefighters from the Emergency Situations Inspectorate (ISU) Bucharest-Ilfov intervened on Tuesday in 288 cases to eliminate damage caused by strong winds in the capital.
In a statement sent on Tuesday evening, the Capital Prefecture reports that “taking into account the meteorological phenomena of constant wind intensification recorded at the level of the municipality of Bucharest, during today, between 08:00 and 18:00, the Bucharest-Ilfov Emergencies Inspectorate reported 288 interventions, namely:
– 194 tree cleaning,
– 92 damaged cars,
– 45 gaps for sheet metal,
– 9 pillars,
– 2 election tents blown away by the wind,
– 15 plaster gaps,
– 2 billboards,
– 10 roofs,
– 13 other types of interventions.
– 1 person was injured by a branch.”
At the same time, the metropolitan prefecture wants to clarify that in the period 2022-2023 “7,677 requests were submitted to the Bucharest City Hall for sanitation/deforestation permits, 1,406 permits were issued, of which only 208 in 2023.”
We will remind, on Tuesday, the orange code of the meteorological warning about the strengthening of the wind was in effect for the city of Bucharest and the county of Ilfov.
