
The union of postal workers in Romania has decided to start a collective labor conflict in the form of a general strike, which will begin on Monday, April 1, News.ro reports. In response, the state-owned company Poșta Română called the labor conflict artificial and assured the two million pensioners that the postmen’s actions would not affect them.
“The company applied for mediation, but SLPR representatives refused. In the context of the fact that intensive negotiations, which have been held since the end of last year between the national company “Pošta Română” and the SLPR, have not reached a result, and the SLPR has decided to initiate a general strike of part of the workers,” he said. The company says it will “ensure accurate distribution, in accordance with all contractual and legal provisions, recommendations and social rights for all customers, and their delay is excluded.” “We assure all customers, partners and banking institutions of the stability and functionality of the services, as well as the validity of the current management policy,” Pošta Română also notes.
“We assure more than 2 million pensioners who receive their social rights through the National Company “Pošta Română” that there will not be a single person who will not receive their rights on time, in April! All social rights will be delivered on time, by April 15, as we have undertaken!”, Pošta Română assures.
The national company notes that the vast majority, more than 80% of employees, will continue to perform their work duties professionally! About 20% of the Company’s employees joined the collective labor conflict in writing.
