Firefighters intervene after being informed of smoke on the roof of a building on Shelari Street in the Old Center of Bucharest, ISU Bucharest-Ilfov reports. No one was injured in the fire, but firefighters are gaining access to the building to search and evacuate people.
The passage of special fire engines from Splaiul Independenții through Șelari Street is difficult, ISUBIF notes.
Firefighters took measures to limit the access of civilians to the affected area.
The building where the fire occurred is one-story and transitional, and the bridge is common to the entire complex of buildings. Smoke emissions come from the roof level.
The affected area at the level of the bridge and the roof is approximately 300 m2. The bridge is not divided into sections, wood and plastic are stored inside.
Fire fighters act both from the inside for extinguishing and from the outside to open the roof covering.
In total, five special extinguishing vehicles, a fire extinguisher, an evacuation vehicle and a truck ladder were used.
