The head of the PNL, Nicolae Chuke, does not rule out a possible confrontation with PSD president Marcel Čolaku in the presidential elections, if the two political formations have separate candidates. The discussion of candidates for the autumn vote will take place after June 9.
Asked on a television show Thursday night if he was ready to strike a deal with PSD president Marcel Cholaku, PNL leader Nicolae Chuke said a decision would be made after the June 9 election. says News .ro.
“Please accept as honestly as possible, and now let’s see the results on June 10 and then discuss,” Nicolae Ciucé said Thursday on Romanian television.
Also, when asked if a confrontation between Nicolae Chuke and Marcel Čolaku in the autumn elections is possible, Chuke answered: “It can be a hypothesis, any scenario on the political table should exist, but I believe it – and I believe it from conviction – that Romanians look at everything that happened well, at everything that did not happen in this period in Romania, they analyze and see that the chance of political stability is what can provide economic balance.”
At the same time, when asked if political stability could also involve a joint presidential candidate, Chuke said: “We are thinking about it.”
The PNL leader believes that it “could happen” that a candidate from the PSD or the PNL, running separately, will make it to the second round of the presidential election against AUR President George Simion.
The PNL president admits that he “was always ready” for the moment when he would leave politics, adding that he would “remain a faithful servant of the country” and do whatever is asked of him for the country.
