Claudia and Dorin Petru Gliga, the sons-in-law of Katalin Čerečes, found themselves in a very delicate situation in a case in which they are accused of trying to bribe the judge who was going to sentence their son-in-law. The information stems from an appeal submitted by the relatives of the former mayor to the Court of Appeal of Tirgu Mures regarding the illegality of the act of referral to the court.

The parents of Ketalin Cherechesh’s wife were sent to court, they face a sentence of 2 to 7 years. At the indictment stage, prosecutors put a plea deal on the table that they were tempted to sign. The problem is that prosecutors have insisted on finding out where the €50,000 (plus at least another €50,000 promised to the magistrate) they offered the judge came from.
