The legendary American Life magazine, known for its photographs, will bring model and entrepreneur Karlie Kloss back to life, the company’s CEO announced on Thursday, AFP reports.

Bedford Media said in a statement that “Life Magazine will return to online and print distribution as part of an agreement with (publisher) Dotdash Meredith to restore Life as a regular publication.”

The amount of the deal was not disclosed, nor was the date of the reappearance.

“We see Life as an inspiring and unifying voice in a chaotic media landscape,” said Karlie Kloss.

“Josh and I are honored to carry on the legacy of Life,” she added on Instagram, referring to her husband, investor Joshua Kushner, who will own the magazine. He is also the brother of Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner.

Founded in 1883 and bought and transformed in 1936, the magazine has long been a benchmark in photojournalism, publishing notable names such as Robert Kapp, Alfred Eisenstadt and Margaret Bourke-White. From movie stars to wars, Life has chronicled the century for decades.

But after years of decline, it went through various stages, from weekly to periodical to monthly, before dying out, then resurgent, and finally surviving online with its archives until the 2000s.

Newly founded, Bedford Media describes itself as a company that seeks to combine “legendary brands with new ways of doing business and reaching audiences.”

A few months ago, she already acquired iD magazine, which specializes in fashion.

Dotdash Meredith “will continue to own all rights to Life’s photo archives and content dating back to the 1930s,” the press release said.

The publishing house will also continue to issue special editions with the red and white Life logo.
