Liberals present in Janca on Sunday at an election event led by former Prime Minister Nicolae Cuke reduced the city of Brăle to the rank of a commune and then raised it to the rank of a district, notes the local newspaper DeBrăila.

The event to nominate the liberal Adin Bobok for the seat of mayor of Yanka started with a small mistake, as those interested were invited to a conference in the “Yanka community”.

Since 1989, Yanka has actually been a city. The post on PNL Brăila’s Facebook page was eventually corrected, but some time after the live broadcast ended, DeBrăila writes.

Then, during the next conference, PNL leader Nicolae Chuke got it wrong twice.

Chuke first said that “Yanka City is the second largest county in Braila County.” At that time, he also confused the county of Brail with the city of Yanka, saying that “the mayors of the communes and cities of Yanka are located here.”

That’s right, there were only councilors of the PNL communes in Braila district, the local publication notes.

According to News.ro, Čuke said that it is important for politicians to talk to people, to explain to them what was done well in the liberal government, but also what was not done.

“He who accuses someone else is not a political and responsible person, he is not responsible. If you go before the people, you have to take on all the issues and tell the people: brothers, this is all we could do, we didn’t do anything else, let’s see what we can do from now on,” said Ciucă.
