
The National Political Council of the PNL approved an electoral alliance with PSD in the European Parliament elections and a merger with ALDE in an online meeting on Sunday, News.ro reported.
On Sunday evening, after the meeting of the National Political Council, the NLP announced the adoption of several decisions.
First, the protocol of the merger of PNL and ALDE was approved with 876 “yes” votes.
Liberals also approved the PNL-PSD electoral alliance in the European Parliament elections. This issue of the agenda gained fewer votes than the union with ALDE, namely 838 votes “for”.
In addition, PNL with 876 votes “for” decided to appoint Vlad Nistor as a member of the executive apparatus in the rank of vice president.
“From now on, we have no choice but to get involved in our activities as much as possible. There is enthusiasm, there is motivation, and we must have confidence in our abilities to be able to complete all the stages of the 2024 electoral year,” Nicolae Chouquet said during the meeting to create the merger protocol with ALDE.
The PNL meeting was held online on Sunday.
