Jose Mourinho, new “arrows” at the coach who fired him from Roma

Jose Mourinho was sacked by Roma in mid-January and the Italian press would say the players were at the heart of the rift with the Portuguese manager.

Daniele de Rossi replaced Jose Mourinho after a run of poor results for Roma.

More than two months after his sacking, the Portuguese coach spoke again about his experience in Italy and announced that he will no longer work with sporting director Thiago Pinto in the future.

“My departure from Rome… is difficult to understand. How can a coach leave two consecutive European finals.

I am not interested in the interview with Mr. Thiago Pinto, I do not spend a single second listening or reading him. We definitely won’t be working together again.

Sometimes something makes us think it’s possible, but in this case it’s impossible,” Mourinho said in the Portuguese press.

Thiago Pinto, the sporting director who signed off on his dismissal, recently said it was very difficult to give up on Jose Mourinho.

“I was knocked out by someone who doesn’t know football. Such is life, with ups and downs, but I am growing, despite the unexpected and unfair dismissal. I will come back with more enthusiasm and more confidence in these matches in UEFA competitions.” – said Mourinho after his dismissal.

Arriving at the Olimpico in 2021, Jose Mourinho (61) won the Conference League trophy with Roma in 2022. Roma also played in the Europa League final in 2023, but lost one on penalties against Sevilla.
