The German national team is preparing intensively for this summer’s European Championship, and the Football Federation has made a surprising and historic decision.
The German Federation abandons the partnership with Adidas, and the equipment of the national team will be produced by Nike from 2027
Since 1954, the German Football Association and the Adidas equipment brand have collaborated in the national football team.
70 years after the start of this collaboration, the Federation announced the end of this partnership and that from 2027 Nike will become the technical sponsor.
“Nike has made by far the best economic proposition and the most compelling with its vision, which also shows a clear commitment to the promotion of fans, football and popular sports, as well as the sustainable development of women’s football in Germany.” – said Holger Bask, CEO of the German Football Association, according to MARCA.
The German men’s national football team has won four World Cups and three European Championships with Adidas as their kit manufacturer. On the other hand, the women’s team has also achieved tremendous success, winning two World Championships and eight European Championships.
Nike will become Germany’s new kit supplier starting in 2027, after Adidas made it for more than seven decades.

Adidas will remain Germany’s kit sponsor until December 2026, so the men’s national team will have the opportunity to wear it at both Euro 2024, on home soil, and at the 2026 World Cup.
