A woman died on Wednesday evening at the entrance to the steps of the block where she lived in Botosani, after her husband, against whom a protection order had been issued, stabbed her in the neck, News.ro reported. Her daughter called 112, and the police, who arrived at the scene, found the intruder.

• “This evening, around 8:00 p.m., the police received a call to 112 from a young woman from Botoshan Municipality that her mother had been stabbed at the entrance to the stairs of the block where she lives. The team that was sent to the place found the victim in the place indicated by the applicant, she had a cut wound on her neck. The medical team, which was asked to intervene, confirmed her death,” IPJ Botoşani said.

The police immediately identified the attacker – the victim’s husband.

“At the same time, the identity of the suspect in the commission of the crime was established, he is a 55-year-old man, the victim’s husband, in respect of whom a protective order has been chosen since March. The man has superficial chest wounds. From the first checks, it became clear that he created them himself,” – said the IPJ Botoshani

He is currently in the hospital ward for medical treatment and will be taken to the police station later.

The investigation will be conducted by the prosecutor’s office at the Botoshan court.
