The High Court of Cassation and Justice (ÎCCJ) on Tuesday ruled in favor of the People’s Movement Party (PMP) in its dispute with the Central Electoral Bureau (BEC), which barred its representatives from electoral commissions.

On March 16, after the creation of the Central Election Bureau, the request of REPER and PMP to have one representative in the BEC was rejected, referring to the provisions of the order on the unification of elections. REPER, led by Dacian Cholos, appealed to the Supreme Court against the protocol establishing the Central Election Bureau, but the appeal was rejected by the judges on Tuesday.

The Supreme Court of Cassation and Justice (ICCJ) on Tuesday accepted an appeal filed by the United Right Alliance (USR, PMP, Forța Dreptei) against the decision of the Central Electoral Bureau to reject its founding protocol. Thus, USR, Forța Dreptei and PMP can participate in the elections together.

The decision of the Supreme Court is final.

In a decision made on Tuesday, the Supreme Court of Cassation annulled Sunday’s decision of the Central Electrotechnical Bureau, which rejected the protocol on the establishment of the electoral alliance United Right-wing USR – PMP – Forța Dreptei.
