Finance Minister Marcel Bolosh announced that the system for processing export customs declarations, which required the submission of documents on paper, was replaced from Saturday with the Automated Export System (AES RO) to “perform customs control faster and more efficiently”.
- “I spent this Saturday with the management of the Romanian Customs Service, with whom I made a thorough analysis of customs procedures with the aim of modernizing them. Our goal is to find ways to optimize processes and accelerate the transition to new digital solutions in the industry. An important innovation is that from today we have a new system for declaring goods – Automated Export System – AES RO, a modern solution for faster and more efficient customs control. In this way, we are replacing the old system designed for the processing of export customs declarations, which required the submission of documents on paper,” Marcel Bolosh wrote on Facebook on Saturday.
He warned that the new AES-RO system is based on qualified digital certificates.
- “Therefore, the customs declaration will no longer be printed, and the supporting documents will be transmitted exclusively through the system, where there will also be an exchange of messages with the operators. Carefully! The new AES-RO system is used based on qualified digital certificates. This is just one step in the action plan for the modernization of customs systems in the sense of digitization of customs formalities, the main advantages of which are the reduction of customs clearance time and the reduction of interaction between operators and customs employees,” added the Minister. finance
He also clarified that “of course, we do not avoid the need for strict monitoring of compliance with ethical standards among customs employees.”
- “During the reorganization of the institution, there will be a special management to check that they act in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations and that they avoid any form of corruption,” Bolosh concluded.
