Lidl has announced the recall of a batch of chicken nuggets possibly contaminated with salmonella, according to the National Veterinary and Health Administration (ANSVSA).

“The manufacturer GEKA is carrying out a preventive recall of the product “Culinea Nuggets with chicken 500g” with an expiration date of 02.03.2025 from the batch with the number ED03.02.2024 049502204845, due to the suspicion of the presence of salmonella,” the message says. posted on the ANSVSA website, News.ro reports.

Salmonella can cause serious diseases of the gastrointestinal tract.

“In certain groups of people (young, old, pregnant, immunocompromised) it can cause serious symptoms. Therefore, customers should not consume the product in question under any circumstances. For reasons related to consumer safety, the manufacturer GEKA and Lidl Romania reacted immediately and removed this product from sale,” the quoted source said.

The product can be returned in all Lidl stores, and its cost will be refunded even without presenting a tax receipt.
