CFR SA reports that rail traffic between Zoita and Râmnicu Sărat stations is only on line II due to the derailment of a tank belonging to a private freight train. The accident occurred on route 500 Bucharest – Suceava.
The carriage derailed with a bogie around 12:30 on line I between Zoita and Râmnicu Sărat stations at km 158+875. The private train, owned by operator GFR, has 33 carriages loaded with fuel and provides transportation on the Brazi – Borzesti Bacău route, CFR SA said.
Pending the completion of the work to return the derailed car to the track, passenger trains that are scheduled to transit through the relevant section will run on the Zoita – Râmnicu Sărat section only on Line II in both directions.
SRCF Galati railway staff will provide the necessary technical support to the private freight operator in the process of returning the relevant car to the track, so that the re-entry of the freight train into circulation can be carried out under safe conditions.
National rail company CFR SA apologizes to travelers for any delays that may occur due to the suspension of rail traffic on just one wire during the time it takes to intervene to get the derailed carriage back on track.
