Rafael Nadal can return to ATP Monte Carlo

Rafael Nadal had hoped to return to the court at Indian Wells 2024, but the Spaniard withdrew before the match with Milos Raonic in the first round of the ATP Masters 1000 competition.

However, the organizers of the tournament in Monte Carlo announced that the Spaniard could return to the competition, which took place from April 7 to 14.

“You never know what he’s going to do, but I’ve seen him practice with his team on a private court at Larry Ellison’s (American billionaire, owner of the Indian Wells tournament where Nadal finished his career before entering the competition ).

I thought I heard a beast. He hits the ball like never before.

“Nadal felt discomfort, so he was afraid and preferred not to play in Indian Wells, but the medical examination he underwent later showed nothing,” announced David Messi, director of the Monegasque tournament, according to Agerpres.

Returning after a year out, Rafa was injured again in Brisbane and says he is still not ready to play at a high level.

Rafa played his last official match on January 5 (he lost to Jordan Thompson, missing three match points), and on March 3 he met Carlos Alcaraz in an exhibition match (lost 6-3, 4-6, 12-14).
