
A drunken man with a revoked driver’s license stole a car and drove off with it on Baia Spriet Street, Maramures County. The police stopped him, detained him and are asking the judges to choose a preventive measure on his behalf.
The events took place on March 8, when a man reported to Baia Sprie police that his car had been stolen, News.ro reported.
“After the measures taken, the police found a car in motion on Kloška Street in the city of Baia-Sprie. The driver was identified as a 52-year-old man who lives in Baia-Spra. Because he smelled of alcohol, he was tested with a breathalyzer, which showed 1.36 mg/l of pure alcohol in his breath. The man was taken to Dr. Constantin Oprish County Emergency Hospital in Baia Mare to take biological blood samples to determine his blood alcohol level,” Maramures County Police said on Saturday.
The police also discovered that the man had a revoked driving license and that he had filled the car with fuel from a station in Baia Sprier and driven off without paying for the fuel.
