
Many products from China enter the Romanian market. If we look at the trade balance, we will see a deficit of 5.46 billion euros in 2023. Last year, goods worth 6.26 billion euros arrived in Romania, compared to what we sent there, that is, products worth 801.4 million euros, according to data sent to HotNews.ro by the National Institute of Statistics.
Which Chinese products arrived in Romania in 2023
Imports from China decreased by 15% last year, and if we look at the main products that arrived in Romania, we can see:
Electrical equipment, audio and video recorders and accessories: almost 2 billion euros
Boilers, machines, devices and mechanical devices: EUR 1.24 billion
Cars (vehicles): 278 million euros
Optical, photographic and cinematographic instruments and devices, medical and surgical instruments: EUR 276.5 million
Plastic materials and plastic products: 237.7 million euros
Furniture: 224.9 million euros
Cast iron, cast iron and steel products: 220 million euros
Clothing: 177 million euros
Toys: 121.7 million euros
Rubber and rubber products: EUR 103 million
Shoes: almost 100 million euros
Aluminum and its products: 85.8 million euros
Tools, shields, cutlery: 75 million euros
Paper and cardboard: EUR 50.6 million
Silk: 36 million euros

If we look at the exports made by Romanian companies to the Chinese market, the value decreased by 26% last year, reaching 801.4 million euros.
