Media mogul Rupert Murdoch got engaged for the sixth time, this time to Olena Zhukova, a retired researcher, The Guardian writes, News.ro reports. Murdoch’s office announced that the 92-year-old billionaire is marrying Zhukova, a 67-year-old retired biologist, the New York Times reported.

In April, media reported that Murdoch was dating Zhukova just four months after breaking off his two-week engagement to 67-year-old conservative radio host Anne Leslie Smith.

Invitations to Murdoch’s wedding, which will take place in Moraga, his vineyard and residence in California, have already been sent out, according to the NYT.

Murdoch met Zhukova at an extended family gathering hosted by his third wife, Wendy Deng, to whom he was married for 14 years before filing for divorce in 2013.

Her daughter was married to Roman Abramovich

Her daughter Dasha Zhukova, 42, is a Russian-American art collector and philanthropist who was previously married to Roman Abramovich, the Russian oligarch and former owner of Premier League football club Chelsea.

News of Murdoch’s latest engagement comes just five months after he announced he was leaving the media empire he built after his father gave him his first newspaper.

Murdoch’s New York-listed News Corp owns hundreds of local, national and international digital publications, including the Wall Street Journal, Fox News and Sky News Australia, as well as HarperCollins.

According to Bloomberg, the media mogul boasts a net worth of $8.96 billion.

Olena Zukhova is of Russian origin

Murdoch’s new bride worked as a molecular specialist in diabetes at the University of California in Los Angeles, writes the New York Times. Zhukova, who is Russian by birth and once described her family as part of the “normal, normal Moscow intelligentsia”, was married to Russian-British energy billionaire Alexander Zhukov.

Murdoch’s last wife is former supermodel Jeri Hall, whom he divorced in 2022. His other ex-wives are Wendy Deng, Anna Murdoch Mann and Patricia Booker. Has six children.

This summer’s wedding comes after a rocky year for the Murdoch empire, 2023, including a $787.5 million deal between Fox News and voting equipment company Dominion.

The settlement ends a dispute over whether the network and its parent company knowingly aired false and outlandish allegations that Dominion was involved in a conspiracy to rig the 2020 US election.
