The President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, said Wednesday night on Digi 24 that her country will be much safer with Romania in the European Union and said she wants more bridges and borders between us. She said that it would be better for economic development if we no longer had borders between the two countries, News.ro reported.
Maya Sanda was asked on Digi 24 on Wednesday what she dreams of.
“My dream is to have the security of peace and the security of freedom. I want to live in a free country, I do not want to live under such a regime as today in the Russian Federation. I also have the experience of the Soviet government, I also know the experience of my parents and grandfathers, and freedom is very important to me. And that’s why I wish with all my might that my country remains part of the free world,” said the President of the Republic of Moldova.
When asked if it would happen with or without Romania, Maia Sandu replied:
“Together, for sure, all together, in a big European family, because the challenges will not disappear. We are entering a period that will be difficult, and we are not talking about a year or two, we can be talking about decades, and the more we are united, the stronger we are together to protect our values, to protect our freedoms, everything is better.
The Republic of Moldova will be much safer and its citizens will be much better off with Romania in the European Union. Of course, I want as many bridges as possible, I want there to be no more borders between us, because it will help us get there faster, see the beautiful places in Romania, get to the mountains faster, but especially for economic development it will be much , it’s much better if we don’t have a border.”
