A “hyper-vaccinated” German man who allegedly received 217 Covid vaccines over 29 months showed “no signs” of being infected with the virus that causes the disease and reported no side effects from the serum, according to a study published in the Lancet Infectious Diseases journal. The Guardian reports, citing News.ro.
A 62-year-old man from Magdeburg, Germany, said he had received a large number of vaccinations for “private reasons”, researchers at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg said.
The researchers learned about the man from a newspaper article and asked if they could study his body’s response to several vaccines.
“I contacted him and invited him to take various tests in Erlangen. He was very interested in it,” said Dr. Kilian Schober.
The research team reported that they received official confirmation of 134 vaccinations, which included eight different vaccines. They reviewed the man’s previous blood work and also examined blood samples as he continued to receive other vaccines.
“The observation that despite this extraordinary hypervaccination there were no notable side effects indicates that the drugs have a good degree of tolerability,” Schober said.
The researchers found that his immune system was fully functional.
According to the research team, certain immune cells and antibodies against the virus that causes Covid-19 (Sars-CoV-2) were present at significantly higher levels compared to people who received only three vaccines.
“Overall, we did not find any signs of a weaker immune response, quite the opposite,” said Katarina Kocher, one of the study’s lead authors.
