The District Emergency Committee of Dolj is meeting on Sunday after an explosion destroyed a house in the village of Bazdana a few days ago and the owner arrived at the hospital with burns, News.ro reports. In this area, the concentration of methane reached 74%, ISU representatives reported.

“We monitored the area, together with the volunteer service and CBRN conducted measurements in the morning, at noon and in the evening. The last measurements, in the morning, showed a concentration of 74 percent of methane near the well, 5.5 percent near the alley 5 meters from the well, and 5.5 percent in the basement of the house,” he said. The Dolj County Emergency Management Committee will meet on Sunday to discuss the situation regarding the high concentration of methane in the yard of the house destroyed by the explosion.

Two days ago, a resident of Dolzh was admitted to the hospital in serious condition with 1-2 degree burns after the explosion of the house in which he was staying.

Two years ago, he might have discovered a bag of gas in his yard in Bazdana village, Kalopar commune, when he notified the authorities, but no action was taken.

Now the man drilled a well in the yard of the house, and the gas burned for about a week until the explosion occurred.
