
A man posing as a journalist was taken into custody for 30 days after he tricked several people into selling them fuel vouchers at a reduced price without giving them any such voucher, according to the prosecutor’s office at District Court 1 in Bucharest.
The man is being investigated for continued fraud.
- “After the evidence provided, it was established that the defendant, on the basis of the same criminal resolution and at different intervals of time, using the false names “Sorin Kostyantyn” and “Sorin Rotaru”, as well as the false quality of a journalist in the magazine On the national level, he misled several victims , promising them to buy fuel vouchers at a reduced price, forcing the victims to pay sums of money equal to the value of 21 fuel vouchers without giving them a single such voucher.
