​Poli Iasi had a goal disallowed in their 1-1 draw with Kraiova 1948, and the VAR implementation team issued an explanation after the phase caused controversy.

The goal of “Poli Jassa” in the match with “Krayova 1948” was correctly canceled by VAR

In the 55th minute, Martach picked up the ball after Bettayeb’s blocked shot and went into the goal, where Kabran scored.

Horaciu Fesnich initially confirmed the goal, but VAR intervened and the success was disallowed after four minutes of waiting due to Martach’s offside.

A statement published on the FRF website said the phase analysis was correct, although televised replays showed Marcel Biersan and Julian Dima (in the VAR room) had drawn the wrong lines.

“All the necessary steps to analyze the offside situation were done correctly. The confusion was caused by the fact that the image used for review was not at the angle used to analyze this situation, the VAR implementation team added.” This is stated in the press release of the FRF.

“Horace, shows the VAR sign, cancels the goal. Out of play. The match is restarted from three meters from the goal line, between 5.50 and 16,” said Feșnic Marcel Birsan in the VAR room.

The match between “Krayova” and “Poly Yassami” ended with a score of 1-1 (Ibrahim ’19 / Bettaib ’45+1). The Olten team also had a goal disallowed (Sidibe ’76, for a foul), and Bordeyan (Poli Jassi) was eliminated.

According to this result, the two teams are neighbors in the standings (31 points each): the Oltenians are in 12th place, and the Moldovans are in 13th place.
