UDMR leader Kelemen Hunor said on Tuesday night on Prima TV that the Union must get at least 90% of the votes of Hungarians who go to the polls, because with the 50% who do nothing, they have lost. “If I don’t have 90% or something like that, I don’t have proportional representation,” Hunor emphasized, according to News.ro.
Kelemen Hunor told Prima News that his political formation should be ready to go before voters and ask for a vote at any moment.
“We are neither advantaged nor disadvantaged, we have to go and say this is what we have done during this mandate, this is our job and we are asking our electorate to vote. In fact, everything is very simple for us, but it is extremely difficult, 34 years,” said the leader of the UDMR.
“UDMR must get at least 90% of the votes of Hungarians who go to the elections, 50% they do nothing, we lost. With 75%, with two-thirds, if I don’t have 90% or something, I don’t have proportional representation. That is why we always have a problem to retain the electorate. We know what we have to do,” Kelemen Hunor added, showing that no one knows how the electorate will behave in such a difficult year with so many challenges and misinformation.
