“The Humanist Social-Liberal Party through me personally sent a letter to Mr. President Chiuke and Mr. President Čolak about the intention not to run for office (neither from their side) in order to create a social-liberal alliance in which we will also be (…) I call for the formation of an alliance for Bucharest, having the experience of some alliances that work with the Humanist Social Liberal Party in District 4, and I said that if a candidate is installed in District 2, if that name is called PSD, the current prefect of the capital, we we will also form an electoral alliance for Sector 2,” Cristian Popescu Piedone told Antena 1 on Monday, Agerpres reports.

He noted that the Social Liberal Humanist Party has its candidates for the remaining sectors in the capital.

Cristian Popescu Piedone said that he decided to run for mayor of the capital from PUSL, taking into account the situation and political evolution in the arena of Bucharest.

“Social democrats and liberals do not draw a portrait of the general mayor who would defeat Nikushor Dan. I thought I would give them a helping hand. If they decide to do it, let them support me! If they do not support me, I thank them in any case, because I will definitely have the support of the majority of the citizens of Bucharest,” he added.

Cristian Popescu Piedone announced on Sunday evening that he will run for the capital mayor’s office from PUSL. The mayor of sector 5 clarified that he will support the mayor of sector 4 Daniel Beluce (PSD) for a new mandate, and for his place in sector 5 he will offer his son, deputy Vlad Popescu Piedone.
