
The Romanian delegation, which will participate in the World Indoor Athletics Championships, will consist of seven athletes. The competition will be held in Glasgow from 1 to 3 March 2024.
More than 650 athletes from 130 countries will take part in the World Indoor Championships in Glasgow (the 19th in history), in a total of 26 competitions: 13 for women and the same number for men.
Unfortunately, Romania will not have a single representative at the world competition.
The tricolor delegation will consist of seven athletes who will take part in the following competitions:
- Alina Rotaru Kottmann (long jump)
- Andrea Miklos (400 m)
- Claudia Bobochea (800 m, 1500 m)
- Daniela Stancu (high jump)
- Andrea Talosh and Diana Yohn (triple jump)
- Petronela Simiuk Burr (1500 m).
The delegation will also include: Valentin Angel Mihai Korukle, Christy Esanu, Virgil Costache (all trainers), respectively Ramona Despa (masseur) and Oana Patelimon (trainer, head of the delegation).
According to the Romanian Athletics Federation, the Romanian delegation will go to Scotland on February 28.

- At the 2022 World Indoor Athletics Championships (held in Belgrade), the Romanian delegation consisted of 11 athletes, and the best ranking was achieved in the 1500 meters, with Claudia Bobocea taking 9th place.
- It has been eight years since the last medal won by Romania at the World Indoor Athletics Championships. In 2016, Andrii Gag won silver in the shot put, and the women’s 4×400 meter relay won bronze.
- The next World Indoor Athletics Championships will be held in 2025 in Nanjing, China.
